redecorate my room

Was not the super fun craft project I thought it’d be. It took a lot more work than I thought. My boyfriend first just tried to sand the old blue paint off with a sandblaster, but that was taking too long, so we got some paint stripper. It smelled awful and was really messy, but it got the job done. It was just such a long time waiting for it to dry and then actually doing the stripping. When that was done, we had to wash it, then wait for it to dry before we could paint it. After painting the first coat, we waited around so we could paint the second coat. It was a lot of work, but I’m excited about having three shelves that match now. I can’t wait for the shelf to dry tomorrow so I can bring it up to my room and fill it with books.

I bought a shelf from IKEA last week, and this Sunday my boyfriend is going to help me sand and paint one of my old ones. Once we do that, I’ll have three shelves to line one wall, and then I can move some things around on another wall. I’m getting really excited about it. :)

I moved back home recently and have been putting off decorating my room. so right now, it looks a lot like the way I left it four years ago. I just gave away my tv and entertainment center (which was taking up quite a bit of space) and now I have more space for what I really want…bookshelves! So I’ve decided to use that as motivation for redecorating my entire room. I’m excited!
