I went to a small seminar on how to erase your debt last night.
It was really useful. I’ve taken some materials home to research and so I’m still processing the information for myself. Of the things I have done to loosen up money to try to pay down debt:
1. Downgrade my Cable plan by getting rid of HBO etc:
Paying $140 a month for #$@!%^x%x* cable is just ludichrist -even if it includes the internet.
Current ANNUAL CABLE EXPENSES: $1,680.00
How can I cut this expense down even more – I ask myself?
- downgrade as much as possible and watch more of the shows I like on-line,
- get a cheap Netflix plan and watch whatever movies I like on-line/do the mail-in/out option. If I’m following up on my goals of writing a page a day, eating healthier/less eating out, Studying French, I won’t have much time for TV anyway. The latter supports a lifestyle condusive to my goals.
1A: Utilizing & benefitting from the cable plan I do pay for:
-Watching the instructive and uplifting shows that support my goals and education:
-The Millionaire Inside: http://www.cnbc.com/id/19074261/
-30 Minute Meals and other great cooking shows(this is a hobby/goal of mine)
-More channel thirteen (Public Broadcasting), The French channel and the Japanese channel (as these relate to my goal and are also subtitled channels.) & more
2. Saving Money on Food by making my lunch and eating in more:
I have no real problem doing this because I love to cook – however, I sort of have to schedule and plan ahead of time to accomodate this task due to time constraints – When I plan ahead, I can get it done.
– I have to start using Coupons when purchasing items. www.coupons.com looks promising, I have to research it further.
MSN usually has other great advice on how to save money – that will be my baby goal this week to follow-up on.
