be nicer to my parents

This goal seems to mean really different things to different people. Teenagers who must live with their parents everyday, often unwillingly, look at it one way. But, if you are a bit older, and don’t have to live with them, you may see them a different way.

My last visit with my parents was pleasant, but they aren’t always so. And, each time I see them, I wonder how many visits do we have left. I know that some issues between us will never be resolved. But, I also know that when they are gone that I will feel very, very alone.

Went to visit M&D (out of state) recently. The first two days went well, but things became a little dicey on the third day. I called my sweetie who suggested that I not ‘overstay my welcome.’

On that advice, I departed for home. In hindsight, my sweetie was right. Sometimes, being nicer to my parents means realizing that it is time to give them some space.
