write a musical

I can’t believe that it has been 5 months since I was contacted about the musical idea!! The guy must regret having asked me. I actually was looking at a few ideas the other day, but really…. what’s my problem???!

I got contacted a few weeks ago by an acquaintance who has written a script and some lyrics already for a musical he’s been working on intermittently for a number of years. And guess who he asked to do the music! :) This goal might not be on hold after all… :)

Other kinds of composing and musical outlets have come to the forefront, so I’m going to have to put off any official attempt to get going on the musical. Although, that doesn’t mean I can’t or won’t work on some things as I am able. Hopefully it won’t be on the backburner for too much longer!

... but I am encouraged by thoughts of the future. With my “get myself organized” goal slowly coming together and continued exposure varied sources of inspiration, I’m thinkin’ more organised efforts on my part will be part of the not-too-far-off future. :) Cool cool.

While I’m not at a place of those “good habits” I was longing for in my entry about a month ago, I have managed to get further into the required frame of mind and also have tackled little pieces of the whole. I’m particularly proud of one song that really came together last week and conceptual things that are starting to fall into place. So, I’m hoping for more of a disciplined approach soon. Yah – wish me well with that one!

... now I just need good habits to make it happen.
I’ve got the time at the moment… just need the “oomph” to get going on it!
