A friend of mine who is a runner told me the other day that sleeping with a humidifier increases lung function while your asleep, making them stronger for cardio exertion… I need to look into this. It seems that stronger lungs, or breathing more easily might help one to breathe more deeply…. I’ll let everybody know what comes of this, if anything.

Every time I read this goal over, I change how I breathe. The rest of the time, I forget it’s here. Picking up on the running (and hopefully practicing my cornet again) will also help with this. But I’m thinking I need signs and reminders placed strategically with “Breathe Deeply” messages. Actually, when Skype starts up it always says “Take a Deep Breath”, so that helps too! :) I’m more relaxed than I used to be, I think, but there’s still more I’d like to see with this goal…. now, how to do it…
Running/walking has definitely helped. So has relaxing. I’ve been much more conscious over the past several months of the many times I literally just stop breathing… not even breathing shallowly, just stopping entirely. So, I’ve been trying to replace those moments with deeper breaths specifically.
I guess this goal is accomplished when I’m doing it out of habit as opposed to thinking about it…. so that’s my goal.
