Well 2007 hasn’t bought any massive changes to my sleep patterns…wish it had…but there you go…seems alot of women in their 40s have a similar problem…I don’t worry so much now…and sleep when I can. If I can’t I try to do something pleasurable..like read…listen to music…etc

Well the summer holidays are here and with them come more time to relax and less stress and so I am sleeping a little better. I think that the idea of having 8 hours continuous sleep is unrealistic for me…and I need to be happy with 5 to 6 hours at night and the odd catch up with a weekend sleep in! Having talked to others about these strange sleeping patterns of mine…it seems I am not alone and the more I stress about it the worst it gets….so I have to let go…and get the sleep that I can….Let’s see how 2007 goes!

I wish I could say things were getting better with my sleeping patterns but they are worse at the moment only getting 2-3 hours in any one stretch! Makes my days seem like I am looking at everything through a foggy haze! Not a good state to be in!

I have tried the “going to bed early at 9pm” several times lately but what happens is I go straight to sleep but then I wake up ay midnight or 1 am and my body says that’s your sleep for the night. Then I try to get back to sleep and end up roaming the house…and fnally when I am ready to “sleep” again it’s time to get up! The best solution for me so far is to wait till I am really tired…I kind of nod off…and then go to bed ….its usually around 12 and then I will go to sleep and wake around 5. At least then I am getting a straight run of sleep and feel OK. I haven’t slept for 8 hours straight in a very long time? Sometimes on the occassional weekend I will crash and sleep for a whole day!

I am a terrible sleeper…go to bed late…sleep in…wake up a couple of times in the night….have trouble getting to sleep some nights…can’t seem to shut off my brain….I NEED TO GET A REGULAR SLEEP PATTERN AND STICK TO IT!
