Working on this... 2 years ago

This goal ties into the concept of truly ‘letting go’. This seems to be one of my bigger challenges as I think I stuff things down more often than I even realize. Songs have started coming through…and the one that’s been rolling around in my head deals with letting go and surrendering. I haven’t gotten it all worked out, but wanted to post the lyrics that I have so far. I think the key for me in letting go is to come to a place of acceptance as well as forgiving myself and others I’ve encountered along the way.

How do I let go, to transmute and let flow
the challenges of my experience?
Without stuffing feelings down, and swirling them around
in my attempted avoidance.
I’ll think that I have dealt, processed the lessons and have felt the emotions in each situation.
Only to find at a much later time that instead I simply re-hid them.

Surrender to divine inspiration
Surrender to the master plan
Surrender to your highest guidance
Surrender to the voice of love with

I ask for the willingness to be willing to heed the guidance from deep within my soul.
I ask for the willingness to be willing to cast out the fear when it takes hold.
I ask for the willingness to be willing to let in the new and fully release the old.
I ask for the willingness to be willing to love myself despite everything I’ve been told.

Surrender to divine inspiration (inspiration)
Surrender to the master plan (the big picture)
Surrender to my highest guidance (intuition)
Surrender to the voice of love within (Spirit within)

for me. I often think I’ve forgiven, only to have it come up at a later date and make me realize that perhaps I’ve not forgiven at all. And the forgetting part gives me trouble too. We’re mean to learn from our experiences, so how can we truly forget when we’ve felt slighted or betrayed? Are we not meant to use that information to create different results in the future? Is there a way to remember the incident, but without the negative charge associated with betrayal?

Part of me can understand that all things have unfolded exactly as they were meant to for the ‘big picture’ of my journey. But still haven’t quite figured exactly how one truly lets go of those things from our past that created discomfort.

If I look at it from the premise that I create my own reality, then I can say “I forgive you for all you’ve never done to me” since it’s my reality and nothing would happen had I not called that experience into creation. Hmmm…pretty deep.

So, still working on this. In the past I’d take something out and look at it. Then find another dark corner to re-hide, only to have it re-emerge at a later date. So no my focus is to really take it out and look at it…and find a way to either process it or remove the negative charge. Hoping to have better results and truly find closure rather than stuff it back down to address later.
