start dating again

Hi, this is going to seem ridiculous – but, i have a really difficult time meeting men. They don’t approach me and I’m pretty shy, but I put myself out there. I’m not sure how I can meet people. I don’t really want to do match.com, I’ve tried speeddating but though it was fun, it didn’t lead to any instant sparks. Anyone have any advice about where to meet men (educated, hard-working, fun, ambitious, and cute men) in chicago?

The man who broke my heart about two-three years ago? He called me last night; the sound of his voice brought a shiver to my spine. I haven’t thought about him in the longest time and have dated someone (very regularly for about ten months – we have since broke up) after him. But, I can’t stop thinking about him – this is not so good. How can I ever think about starting to date again and search for the one if I still can’t stop thinking about him – the get over him guy. Any advice?
