write a novel

only 5000 words away from victory ;)
but I have only written 50000 words by than, my story is not finished.

I had no time to write but I made it up today, I wrote 5000 words today and cheated a little by recycling some words of a manuscript I never finished. I started reading it and liked a lot of parts off it, so I hit the copy paste button. BUT STILL!

Tomorrow (or in a couple of hours) I will try to create a little buffer so that I can finish the 50k deadline earlier than planned.

So I wrote half a book (of crap but let’s not get into that) and there are parts of it that I actually like, although we are not allowed to read very much of it back during November. I am a bit ahead of schedule and am planning to write a lot more tomorrow to have a little reserve in case I get the flu or fall of a horse or something.

And I am feeling like I have never written this much crap in one week, which is actually true.

But I SHALL NOT kill my novel again.

So I dropped everything and started a new book. But only because NaNoWriMo made me do it. I am doing awesomely on the wordcount and I am going to nail this by the end of the month.

I didn’t say it would be good though ;)

I am going to quit school for a year (in order for me to be able to finish it), so I have until may 30th to consider book writing a dayjob. I am lagging right now but I am halfway through reading my manuscript. Most of it sucks, but there are a couple of passages I like very very much. I underlined sentences from the passages I hated, which are going to stay. The rest of the sentences that surround these underlined ones are going to die. I think I need a fresh wind like that.

I’ve rewritten a chapter today. I am glad I did, it is so much better now. I send it in to my teacher, I am curious about his feedback.

I deleted a few pages. I know I am not supposed too etc but I felt bad about continueing, knowing that half of it actually sucked.
I started printing the manuscript, I want to start editing so that I can continue writing. I think this works really well for me.
My creative writing teacher got to read the first couple of pages of my novel and he loved it. He told me he wanted to publish it in the magazine of the school. This gave me a little self confidence, just enough to make me start working on this goal again.

I need to reflect.

I am lagging with everything, including this. I think I will stop writing until November, so that I can participate in NaNoWriMo. I have no ideas and no motivation for this. The stuff I wrote so far is not good enough to finish, which kind of keeps me from going on.

I wrote another 2907 words today.
