Read at least one book each month

I’m starting my August book a little early. My mom had this book at her house and I asked her if I could read it. Back in the 70’s there was an infamous news story about a whale that had washed up on the beach and Oregon Department of Transportations efforts to get rid of it. They decided to blow it up into a million pieces with dynamite. Only problem was that it didn’t explode into a million small piece, just several VERY, VERY large pieces. One of the pieces demolished a car. Anyway…it’s written by the man who was covering the story for the local tv station…it seems like it will be fairly interesting.

State of Fear…it was OK, pretty predictable.

by Michael Crichton (sp?)...so much for searching for a really good book for this month. Once again it was given to me by my mom…it’s OK so far. I’ll save my full analysis for when I’m finished. LOL

Now that sounds funny, doesn’t it! Anyway…that book is finished. I need to go to the library to pick up something new for July…but I’m going to look over my Amazon.com wishlist and decide which book should be next. I think my next book should be one thoughtfully chosen not just one that I find laying around.

This was a book given to me by my mom. I used to read a lot of his stuff when I was in high school…so far it seems interesting.

I kind of liked it…very non-linear so it was sort of hard to follow for me since with 2 little kids I would have to read a few pages and then put it down for awhile…took me awhile to read it because of that.

This is the book I”m going to try to finish this month. I read Stephen King’s “Cell” last month. Hopefully by this time next year I’ll have read at least 12 books!
