struggling with all the blogging, and distracted constantly by facebook.
got to get back on it. with my websites needing traffic, the ideal way to get links, and extra traffic is through blogging.
shame i’m such a lazy git!

right – the fist thing is done, but now what i want, what i really really want (no, i don’t what to zigazigah – whatever that meant).... what i want is to get another set of templates done for worpress multi-user. so i can offer blogs to other people. i’ve had a dabble, but so far i can’t even install working templates very well, let alone write my own! it’ll be a task, but i’ll keep you folk updated..
I’ve got my first blog set up, templates sorted, and ready to roll. it’s available at http://www.radcliffecc.org.uk/content/ – you’ll have to excuse the colours, as purple and green are the club colours. i think it’s not a bad effort really, and should allow club members to log in and update match reports, add news, and generally keep the website alive quite well.
fresh content, getting people back onto the site regularly.
i’ve also set up a photoboard, and messageboard too, so it should be nice and interactive.
well the blog system works an absolute treat – easy to install, easy to publish.
the trouble is, there’s no templates out there that match EXACTLY what i want out of it, so i’m now trying to make a template. it’s a lot trickier than many other things like photo albums or messageboards – there seems to be about 20 different template files needed for a blog!
well i’ve not got any further with the blog site i’m aiming for – it all was getting a touch complex. so instead i set up a blog for my cricket club website – just a one-off blog for the comittee to use to post the latest results etc.
i’m hoping as it was fairly straightforward, i can learn a bit initially with this, and then go back to the larger project that’s my REAL aim.
that’s the plan anyway.
i’ve registered a domain, and have installed the software – now the tricky bit is to create a nice range of templates, and learn exactly how all of the software works so i can support the site when i start to get users.
My Dad has offered to help write the copy for pages and some advertising, which is a huge weight off me, as i’m terrible at that sort of stuff.
right – well i’m not one for writing about my daily life, but what i want to do is actually start a blog SITE. one where other people can sign up and have their own blogs. and i want it to tie in with my other goals, relating to travelling.
so a travelling niche blogsite basically.
