I’m getting better about this. There was around a year where I simply didn’t cook.
I live in a land of a million adequate chain restaurants and few great ones. Cooking at home will allow me 1) to save money and 2) to eat better quality, better prepared food.
For example, we had an OK appetizer at Red Lobstar last night. But I could have made seared sea scallops with a red onion vinagrette salad at home just about as fast and MUCH better tasting—on top of being cheaper!

I have a tendency to pick up two of things when I’m at the grocery store, so that there is a spare in the cabinet. Two jars of peanut butter, two boxes of granola bars, two things of soda. The problem is that then we go through things twice as fast and I end up buying two next week, also.
I am going to cut back to buying one of anything that I don’t KNOW I have a use for. I will get over my phobia of running out. And I won’t run to the store. I’ll add it to next week’s list and be done with it.
