find the career that fits my skills, natural talents and passion

earlier today the class i started got down to business and started for real. i loved every minute of it and if i could do this for a job i would without hesitation.

since i came back from unemployment to full time at my job again i have been trying to make the job i have worthwhile for the time i spend there.

so far that has meant learning to be assertive again, learning how negociate to get what i want, and just trying to be more of a help to people even if it is outside my job.

so far i feel like it is working. i know this is not what i want to spend my time doing for the rest of my life, but i am trying to make the best of what i have now instead of ‘waiting’ until i have that dream job – because everything builds from what came previously. so i might as well start building it now.

i woke up this morning breathless thinking i had to go to work today until i thought it through and realized that it’s the weekend and i had two days off.

i did not like the pit in my stomach feeling.

i’m starting to question if i made the right decision when i quit my former job, went to school, and got a job in that field. was it a mistake? this field that i am in now is small, so if i were to try to get a job somewhere else i would absolutely need a good recommendation from my current job. but i hate it so much there and seem to never be able to do a good job.

what can i do but keep working there and hope something comes along?

last week i went to an intro session for a volunteer program i want to be involved in. i had a great time, talked to some interesting people and the staff who organize the program seem extremely on top of their game professionally.

i’m super excited to be a part of it.
