Live with compassion

i am so proud of my kids.

they are 6 and 3. my daughter is in first grade and has a host of collections at school. she brings in donations for the local food bank every month, they are collecting school supplies to send to mississippi for a school district devistated by katrina, she is buying toys, with her own money, for toys for tots, and my son, who doesn’t even go to school there yet, is joining in too.

my son, (who is finally outgrowing some of his size 24 months pants; i have shrimpy children) told me “these don’t fit me anymore—can we give them to someone who they might fit?”

it does my heart good to see that these values are becoming their own, too. it’s the best christmas gift i could ask for!

i guess i mean living with compassion as how i treat others, and living well as how i treat myself. however, you can’t do one without the other, they are joined at the hip.

do unto others as i’d have them do unto my own children.

i figure i’d be willing to put up with a lot of crap, but i wouldn’t want someone treating my kids or my grandparents that way.
