I’ve just returned from two weeks in the Ukraine and my Russian has definitely improved. Hardly anyone there speaks English and so you have to use Russian all the time.
I also had several hours of classes of Russian a day and now feel much more confident in my Russian langauge skills.

I’m so looking forward to going to the Ukraine!! It’s something to look forward to and it’s given me a real incentive to work on my Russian over the next few weeks.

I’ve just booked a trip to go to the Ukraine for two weeks in the summer and study Russian. I know it sounds weird that I’m not actually going to Russia, but I’m going to a Russian-speaking part of the Ukraine and I’ve never been to the Ukraine before, whereas I’ve been to Russia a couple of times already.

I’ve been totally distracted from this recently because I’ve had to focus on studying Ancient Greek from my MA. My last exam is next Monday and after that (well, after a suitable rest!) I’m going to get back into the Russian.

I’ve been trying to look at a bit of Russian every couple of days, just to keep it fresh in my mind.
I thought I might see if I can find a course out there this summer and totally immerse myself in the language.

I used to know Russian fairly well, although I wasn’t fluent in it. I don’t seem to remember that much now, but I’m pretty sure it would all come back if started studying it again. Seems a shame to lose it.
So many of my other things to do on this site involve learning languages!!
