work with elephants

Recently, I watched a program about The David Sheldrick Wildlife trust.

I work with teenagers who have come from very abusive backgrounds and have been traumatized by something or someone in their lives.

The elephants I saw on this program reminded me heaps of many of my clients.

There was one little girl elephant that had taken to carrying around a ‘security tyre’ with her everywhere she went. Something about her just touched something in me…

So now, I’d love to work with elephants. Ever since I decided that, I’ve been seeing elephants everywhere! I see representations of elephants almost every day.

I’m thinking that volunteering at a zoo might be a good way to start…
