of a woman’s face. Not too awful.

I did them while I was babysitting. Not very good, but glad I did them, I must keep it up if I am ever going to improve.
I did a sketch at the gallery today but it was so crap I threw i away. I know I’m supposed to keep everything, but I didn’t like it.
I did a scetch of Molly from a photo. I was going to do it from life, but she decided not to be still! I am more pleased with my efforts than I thought I would be, and am determined to keep trying in the hope I develop.
I did a quick sketch on the train of a man’s hand (I know, start with something easy piglet!!). It wasn’t good, but it looks like a hand, so it’s a start. I only spent a couple of minutes on it but I enjoyed it. I am so lucky to be doing this, and so excited by this new world I am discovering.
...by todays workshop as part of my course. It was ‘working creatively with a sketchbook’.
One of the most interesting things suggested was preparing the paper in out sketchbook to avoid ‘white paper syndrome’ (fear of drawing). It really made a difference to my acceptance of my own marks to be working on a ground. I prefer subtle and natural, so something along the lines of a wash or rolled ochre.
She stressed what a difference regular quick sketching can make, and as drawing is incredibly weak for me, I really should try. The only way is up!!
I would love to sketch something every day, even if it is just 5 minutes on the tube, but if I manage 4 times a week I will be happy.
Let’s see!!
