Yesterday I took the train to Le Havre, which is two ours away from Paris. After one hour, we stopped in Rouen, some people got off the train and I took their seat. A bit later, a man passed by and told me my wallet had fallen under my seat. The wallet happened not to be mine, but probably the one of the two people who had gotten off the train in Rouen.
I hesitated a little bit, and decided I would be more efficient than the train company to find the two people back. I found the professional card of a banker in the wallet, which I called to ask him if he knew the woman whose name was on the visa card… He said he was going to call her.
15 minutes later, the woman called me back, she hadn’t even had time to realize she had lost her wallet… I told her I was taking the train back to Paris the same evening, and we could meet on the platform in Rouen… And that’s what we did, exchanging the full wallet against a few chocolates she had bought (I’m glad she did it, and very happy she didn’t have the bad idea to give me money or something). I got back in the train and we left. A few minutes later (time for her to check if the two visa cards and the few 20 € bills were still into the wallet, I guess) she sent me an sms to thank me again.
the feeling was so great…

I received a SMS from D-M this morning. She’s a fellow bookcrosser, working at the library downstairs (she’s also the one who fred me from from my library fines). I knew she had problems with her job, not knowing if she was going to stay or be fired. And this morning, the SMS said “I passed an exam and I’m definitly engaged !”.
I didn’t answer, but two hours later I went and bought a white lily for her, had to stop in front of the library to control my happy emotion and the tears that was coming to my eyes, got in and offered her the flower.
She said lilies are some of her favourite flowers, how cool is that ?

when walking in the street, I passed by a scooter whose owner had forgotten his gloves on the saddle. They were nice, warm gloves. I searched what to do, and finally hid them behind the spare wheel. It was a small gesture, but I felt happy imagining what the owner would think when they would find their gloves there…

the other day, in Gare du Nord, there was this blind guy, looking a bit lost. I had time before my train, so I helped him to reach the Eurostar departure. It really made my day, and I sure did made his !

I went there, bought a couple of things, and they left me the coupon. So, before I went back home I went to my aunt and cousin’s, without any advice, and gave them the coupon. They were very glad.
I like to do things like that !
