Cultivate and Celebrate Serendipity!

On saturday right after midday I decided I should go buy some little things I needed for the works at home. After that, I decided I could go and eat some sushis, but decided to join the sushi restaurant walking slowly and by a unusual path. When finally getting close to the restaurant, I crossed a street and suddenly heard someone shouting my name, on a tone of absolut astonishment and relief. I turned round to face S, a girl I really like but had a bit lost those last months, since I’m a bit angry against our mutual friend and she moved to Switzerland. Anyway, she was in Paris, and two hours earlier she had decided she had to see me, but couldn’t find a way to reach me. We took a coffee together, and met again on sunday for a brunch. I might go and see her in Lausanne too (where, who knows, I could meet La Tordue :)).

On sunday morning, I went for a footing in the wood. When I was almost finished, I bumped into two boys doing stretching. One of them stared at me and said : “Oh, hello !”. That was absolutely incredible. I know that guy from Mali, seven years ago, and we meet every year and a half, each time in very different places. Last time he gave me his phone number but I didn’t call back. This time we had nothing to write anything down, but he learnt my number by heart and… called me back a few hours later, and invited me for dinner in two weeks (we happen to be neighbours…).

A bit later on sunday, I went for that brunch with S, riding a velib. And who crossed the street right in front of my bike ? F, K and K’s mother, who all are mutual friends I have with said S.

It’s finished now, but how cool a week-end is that ?

my sunday strange encounter as serendipitious…

Last week I was taking a velib when someone asked me a question (you talk to a lot of people while you’re at a velib station !). I raised my head, started to answer and then the girl and I just stared at each other, untill one of us said : “we do know each other, don’t we ?”. So, we happen to have studied in the same school, ten years ago, and we also remembered we both worked for the Ciné-club . She said we could have a coffee together, after the summer. I said yes, and proposed that we choose the date, in order to be sure to take that coffee. That’s what we did. I’ll be seeing her in september. Wow.

I was running in the Bois de Vincennes yesterday, when I met a guy that was in college with me. I hadn’t seen him for 7 years, and didn’t even remember his name. I could have just said hello and gone on running, but I decided I could make a U-turn and run with him… It ended to be great : he forced me to run a bit faster than I usually do, on my own. He proposed me to join the group he usually runs with. And, being an architect, he proposed to come home some day and help me think about how my kitchen could change.

Yay to Serendipity, and yay for accepting to follow what the universe brings to me !

being seated in the metro, earing a voice, raising my head, and meeting the eyes of a friend who’s supposed to live in Grenoble, that I haven’t seen for two years, and who is now staying in Paris for a few month, serendipity ?

Did I mention I had been thinking about her for a few days ?

After a long discussion about serendipity whith La Tordue, Michiel and Jennifer”, I realized I had been cheered by someone I didn’t know. I decide to cheer back, and guess what I first find !
