It took me over a year to finish this, but it is finally done. Woohoo!!
Now I just need Apple to release an 80GB iPod so all of this music will fit on one device. :-)

A few years ago, my husband was hoarding the cash from his golf winnings in one of my CDs. He forgot which one he put it in, and looked though every single one (or so he thought), messing up the order some were in. He went through a period when he was blaming a lot of people (at least not to their faces) for stealing his cash.
So last night I was tackling some of my older compilation CDs, most of which seemed like a better idea BEFORE purchase than after listening. In fact I toyed with skipping them, but decided to rip them all anyway. About halfway though the stack, imagine my surprise when I opened one and found $240 in $20 bills!
Hubby said I could keep half as a finder’s fee since he had given up hope of ever seeing that money again.
I finished ripping the main portion of my CD collection today—everything but some compilations that I rarely listen to and some of the classical music CDs. I also added all of the album art to it and transferred it to my iPod. I had to delete my full-res photos to make enough room for the music, so I have an excuse not hold off on ripping the rest for now. I’ll either have to delete some of the music currently on the iPod or wait for Apple to release an 80 GB (or larger iPod) before I can add the rest.
I did a detour of a stack of CDs that were out of order but finished all of them. Now I’m up to Seal.
Specifically the Pet Shop Boys (yes, my “child of the ‘80s” persona strikes again).
This is a good thing to do while I try to rest my eyes—pop a CD in, let it rip, take it out, insert next one.
But am only up to the Cs, which isn’t quite as bad as it sounds, as I started with an out-of-order stack before the As.
I have ripped all of the CDs I have with me here, but there are a lot more at home waiting to be ripped.
