Virginia’s governor just signed a law that will prohibit smoking in most restaurants beginning 12/1/09. I never thought I’d see this in Virginia, but I am very glad! Kaine signs restaurant smoking ban into law

Local policy 4 years ago

Although the local policy here is that you can’t smoke within 50 feet of the entrance/exit to a building, that wasn’t enforced when we first got here. Now that is enforced both at the palace and the convention center. It’s nice to not have to start the day walking through a smoke cloud.

The smell of smoke and the hazards of second-hand smoke make me want to do this. I can’t stand walking through a smoke cloud and getting the stench in my hair and clothes. YUCK!
