Take more photos

I took a lot of photos last week while we were in the Outer Banks, and then on Friday (my “home” vacation day) I went to the local zoo and took a lot of photos with my DSLR.

Saturday night I took a bunch of photos (and a few very shorts video clips) at the NASCAR race and BNL concert beforehand. I used my P&S camera so they aren’t that good, but there are some keepers in there. I need to sort through them again and upload the better ones.

I took a lot of photos at soccer matches this summer, and even though it was more than usual, since I am a team photographer, I don’t feel like it counts. I have been taking my new P&S digital with me when I travel (if I can’t taken a DSLR) and am really happy with it. I would still like to take more random photos, maybe just everyday, as opposed to taking photos of an event or the places I travel to.

I think this was one of the first goals I adopted when I signed up with 43T, but I didn’t do very well at this in 2005, at least not consistently. Now that I’m back home and working for the hockey team again, I’m automatically taking a lot more photos. But I’ve also been making an effort to take photos of other things, too, such as my photos of Richmond and Williamsburg earlier this month.

I really need another P&S digital camera since my old one is pretty much gone, and while my DSLR is wonderful, it’s too bulky to carry around.

So even though I’ve really sucked at this goal recently, I’ll really suck until I get back home. I plan to do a lot of sight-seeing when I get home, as well as resume my position as team photographer for the local hockey team, so this should be pretty easy.

If anything, I am taking fewer phoots now. Need to fix that!
