So now I know where most countries are, the name of their capitals and can identify many flags as well… Also know the location of some major rivers and bodies of water. I feel I’ll need to revise this from time to time but I’m happy to take this off my list.

Now I can confidently point different places such as Burundi, Belize, Bhutan and Bahrain on a map… and I’m reading a bit about each country on wikipedia (and the Economist). And I’m also having fun identifying flags (to me this was a susprise). To learn the location of countries (and their capitals) I’m using a software called Seterra but for flags this is not a good software since some of the info is out of date.

I took some online tests about locating countries and did very well in Europe, Central and South America. Not so well in Asia and Middle East; and very poorly on Africa (14/53), the Caribbean and Oceania. I’m not too bothered about all the tiny islands and I don’t feel I need to know about internal divisions (states and provices). I need to study the African map. Apart from locating the countries I would like to know their capitals and other info – I have much to learn!
