so i have been jotting down stuff i might do career-wise. this is what the list looks like currently:
children’s author
dula
teacher (what grade?)
masseuse
photographer
police officer (very out of place i know)
greeting card artist/writer (home biz)
peanutbutter has written 6 entries about this goal
everyone i talk to says there is a big shortage of nurses (which makes me think… why?) so much of a shortage that most people have a job before they finish nursing school!
this would exercise my medical side, i like that kind of stuff. seems like it might pay decent. cons: strange hours? jerk docs?
new urbanism i have read a bit about this and it seems like something i could see myself getting/staying excited about.
it is basicially the reason i love fremont. small, walkable neighborhoods with character. (i know fremont has changed alot in the past few years but it is as close to a New Urban neighborhood as i have ever lived in.) the idea is that suburbs are outdated and will eventually be(read: should be) obsolete. they are calling them TND ‘traditional neighborhood development’, and New Urban.
i like it. this will be something i look into while careerhunting. portland is supposedly doing this well.
and other assorted enviornmental issues. i have views on these issues. i am a decent to good public speaker. i think i would enjoy working on something that ‘matters’.
i love talking with people and friends about mind stuff. i am told i have a knack for it.
the schooling involved with becoming a psychologist or a psychiatrist is the excuse i use not to dive into this as a career.
i think i would like it alot.
