Getting better

Having painted with acrylic and watercolour for many years, I have decided to have a go with oils. I have plenty and I have an easel. So I got some pics of some friends to study and I have made a start. But there is a long way to go. It’s hard to get used to the slow drying and the need for care with layers. I’m also trying to teach myself using info from the internet. The detail above is where I am with the portrait of my mates – only just started that one, but it is coming along.
