this past weekend. despite the rain! proud of myself for going and it gave me encouragement to try to fit it into my schedule.

He just called me this morning to tell me he had already run two half marathons this year…and yes, this is only the second weekend of the year! Showoff!!!!
But inspiration for my lazy ass nonetheless.
although it’s winter and it will be tough, I need to get back into some shape and to do something that will kick my butt.
yes, yet again. This time I have a race to train for in July so I better get up and do something. So far have only been making it out once a week or so, and only about 3 miles, but I think I have been getting generally more fit by some other sports I’ve been playing, so I think once I get in a rhythym I will be ready for it.
I went twice this past week, after having not gone regularly in a while. Wow, yesterday was such a beautiful day for running. I’m going to see if I can go at least every weekend.
well, I may be back on track…already went twice this week…hoping to go tonight as well. Yesterday was on the treadmill doing 10 min mile…I made it two miles before I had to leave—I was surprised I kept up the pace, but the heart rate monitor made it seems like heart rate was too high. But then the room was totally unventilated, so I don’t think I was able to cool off at all…would that do it?
this week didn’t go so well, I haven’t run in a week!!! The time change didn’t help much, as it’s way too dark to go after work unless I go to the track and run in circles. But the gym at work has just been revamped, so the plan is to try it out next week, and the nice new flat screen :)
I did go twice this past week, so it’s good to know that I haven’t completely fallen out of habit after the 1/2. I’m looking at another 1/2 in january. maybe i’ll stay on track for that.
I did a half marathon this past weekend…woo!! It turned out surprisingly well, I am almost recovered from it now :) They had a lot of bands, that really helped make the miles go by quicker. And I beat my old time by 9 minutes…if I can just do that every time, then I”ll be a speedster in no time. ;)
That half is kind of pushing me to try another one. Especially when I see my place and it is something like 2000 or 4000th… (is there really a difference?) and I think that I’m young…I’m healthy…I should be in better shape and do it even faster. So I really want to start focussing on the speed workouts so I can cut like 30 more minutes at some point. I’m looking at a half in January, I”ll see what I can do by then…
well, I haven’t done all 12 weeks of half marathon training so well…but I have been running every week, and there really is some routine. I just need to keep it up as the days get shorter and my motivation gets lower…
