get rich

I played this game by Robert Kiyosaki called Cashflow 101. It’s pretty fun. I bought all this real estate and ended up on the ‘Fast Track’. My fantasy was ‘The South Sea Fantasy Island’... just sounds so beautiful and dreamy. I didn’t get it though… but I will next time. Anyway, the game opened my eyes to the idea of real estate investing. I always thought it was clunky and expensive, I liked stock because it seemed so versatile and flexible, easy. But playing this game showed me that I’m very much the sort of person who enjoys big payouts and a steady, strong income from assets… not flipping everywhere like stocks.

Although, not much use now this information will become valuable to me in the future. Or maybe it is, it is giving me a better idea of what I want to do with money to make money.

Right now trying to get a job, a nice-paying one near home so can I reach my goal of $1000 in my bank account this year (already 1/5th of the way!) and save up the rest of the money for investing later on.

i have some ideas for a blog:

1. me detailing ridiculous experiments i put myself under (i’m already doing one- not washing my hair for six weeks)
2. promoting youtube videos of the final fantasy fanatics ring, or just reviewing youtube videos- har maybe oneday i could charge a comission to market people’s internet intellectual property like youtube videos

i like the idea of making money on the internet. it does seem a bit riskier, but it’s more flexible and faster. or maybe that’s just my broadband. anyway been reading a lot of books on getting rich and stuff. i told myself i’d put this goal on hold. i changed my mind, it seems like i am often thinking about it. my thoughts on money are driven by guilt, a desire for greatness, for power, to live in a nice place in a nice house. i don’t want to be a poor little nobody. anyway, i was told the best time to start anything is to start now. so i’ve been doing that with just small stuff- cleaning my wardrobe, practising my art, randomly vacuuming the living room, stuff like that.

i won’t give up. i’m just putting this goal on long-term hiatus. i don’t want to become rich just right now.

I think I should get educated. Learn the ways to get rich. So that means I’d have to find some good books or websites on the subject. Most people think running your business or doing the stock market is the way to go, being a simple old employee want get you too far if you want to be rich. So I’ll look into those first two options. Then I might actually get an education, head back to Uni (graphics design or game design?) or TAFE (possibly something Arty). I know I should probably do something businessy at those two places but I feel I want to use my skills from graphics/game design to get rich. I might probably do a business course at TAFE to get an idea. But I think I should acquire some skills, that would be helpful… even if it is something totally arcane like speaking Finnish fluently.

Well, I’m not exactly sure why I want to be rich except for superficial crape like good car, clothes, house, etc. I live in a tinny dump right now with bad food and an air-con, getting rich will help me get there. I was reading a book on the stock market but because of procrastination (I’m trying to beat that here too) I didn’t learn too much. So I’ll start again with the book and learn what else I can.
