i love taking pictures, and late-afternoon light is by far the most flattering, serene lighting for photographs. i also love sitting in warm, late-afternoon light. it makes me feel peaceful and beautiful. sadly, i work until the sun is nearly gone and i rarely get to experience it. i think i’ll make it a point to get out in that light on my break, just for the mental clarity and relaxation value when i’m nearing the end of the day.

these make me super happy. maybe part of it is my superiority complex, but i prefer these to almost any other comic except, possibly, calvin and hobbes.
i’ve always thought that calvin is the kind of kid it would be a blast to BE, but a terror to HAVE.
i have The Best Friends Evar.
they are amazing. and i don’t know what i would do without them.
especially unexpected banter. meeting someone random who gets my sense of humor and has a quick wit…. heaven.
i’m easily pleased, so when i first saw this goal, i thought it would be too easy, and i wouldn’t have any fun doing it. but then it hit me: 100 is a big number. sure, i know of plenty of things that make me happy. a lot of them are simple pleasures. but wouldn’t it be a good exercise to enumerate them?
writing them down will help me focus on them more, which is a good thing. so here’s the first one:
1: learning new words makes me happy. i have a very large vocabulary already, on a scale from one to ten, where one is Paris Hilton and ten is Noah Webster, i’m probably an eight. but that doesn’t mean i can’t keep expanding my vocabulary.
new word of the day: Osculate. it’s a less appealing way to say “kiss.”
