Resting the body & coming back full force with a new exercise program that will take me into 2010 :)
go me!
Lately I strength train twice a week. I am not regularly doing any other exercise. Here is my strength progress presently:
Bench press: 85lb
Squats & Deadlifts 175lb
Bicep curl & shoulder press: 30lb dumbbell each arm
Walking lunch: 50lb each arm
doing well…
Eating habits will improve this week :)
my squats & deadlifts are at 135lb.
I am still strength training twice a week.
I will start to add two 20-30 minute metabolic workouts a week in order to add more fun movement to my week.
I’m eating awesomely all the time.
During the next two weeks I have four events that will involve elaborate cooking & eating. I think it will be healthy for me to eat non-textbook on these occasions! For sure I will go back to my normal present way of eating which is just lots of veggies, nuts, fruits, meats, brown rice and what not…
thank you all for your encouragement. My body is looking good! I will post more lifting stats another time. The mass on the scale is the same, but the body composition is obviously changing since I’m losing inches.
All you women out there!! Lift heavy in order to become leaner! you will not bulk up unless you take testosterone or eat 5000 calories a day!
good luck
just had an awesome strength training session. For my upper body exercises, I did 6 sets coz I am trying to challenge my upper body and develop more strength.
I have never really done more than 3 or 4 sets of anything for an exercise. So I feel rather accomplished.
Next time I will return to 3 sets for upper body and increase the amount of my lifts. Sunday or Monday is the day of my next strength training session…
I am putting in one or two days of this a week.
cardio is still pretty minimal, but I did take two spinning classes last week and I did 20 minutes of HIIT today.
My attitude is very relaxed as opposed to imposing rigidity and “shoulds”, I’m using intuition.
woo hoo!!!
So DOMS was killing me. I walked a total of 2.5hours today and still was aching and barely able to move. And I went to the gym!!!
I increased 2.5-5lb of mass on all my strength training exercises. Wow!!! I feel really good. Afterwards I did 15 minutes of HIIT and incline walking on the treadmill.
I think the endorphins are already kicking in coz suddenly I feel invincible in all aspects of my life :) I am looking forward to sleeping soundly tonite.
I’m so proud of myself. I’m really excited for my Friday workout :) :) :)
Deadlifts, chest press, curl to press, row, lat pulldown, squats, lunges, calf raises…
Fun fun fun.
I love strength training. I’d forgotten how much I feel at home in the strength & conditioning room.
My goal is to strength train on Wed. & Frid. this week.
I also did 15 minutes of gradual HIIT.
I haven’t had a headache in months, and now I have one. My body will take some time to get used to exercising again. I may have to take Tylenol so I can watch House, 24 and Heroes in Peace tonite. I’ll try to take a nap before resorting to meds…
meanwhile – go me!!! woo hoo…
Next week I am going to be going to the gym from Monday – Sunday.
I haven’t been to the gym in a LONGGGGG time. I realize I’m not good at working out at home on my own. If I’m gonna workout at home, I want company and loud music. I just have to make this easy for myself. Week by week. For now I’m grateful for my gym membership…
I need to use it to the max by May 15th…
I’m seriously considering training for a Fall marathon…
Mostly for the mental benefits…endurance, hope…
To believe I can do it!
For the next 3 weeks, I am eating whole foods 100% of the time.
After three weeks of eating lots of healthy yummy food consistently, I will go out for Indian food to celebrate.
Then start all over again…
Presently I’m making my workout schedule…
