This is more a random entry directed at my 43T friends, apologizing for my sudden complete lack of 43T activity. I’m back once more in the US, back in Western Pennsylvania for the summer. This in turn means that I’m back in the land of slow internet connections that I get fed up with easily. I’m not ignoring you, really, and soon there will be gargantuan entries about my last few days in Italy and the trip home, I just have to get used to the obnoxiously slow dialup internet again.
Love you all and have a great week,
Stacey

I sent a Thanksgiving card to an old friend from high school who’s now in Iraq. He was actually my date to one of the high school dances…senior year winter dance maybe?...anyways, I was really bad about keeping in touch with a lot of people after graduation, him included. I saw him at the mall one day over the summer when I was working and he was on leave from Iraq. We talked for a while (until my manager started giving me dirty looks), and he gave me his email address, which I subsequently lost when I got home. Well, I just found it over Thanksgiving break, so I sent him a Thanksgiving ecard. He wrote a short email back, just basically saying it was nice to hear from me and that he’s doing all right. Not a huge reconnection, but a nice one nonetheless.
I reconnected with an old Girl Scout friend on facebook!
:-)
Facebook’s actually helped me find several old friends, so as much time as I waste on it, it’s been good.
I decided that I’m actually going to make a valiant effort at this. I sent out a mass email on Saturday to update a mess of my friends back home about my new address and move in and such things. I know mass emails aren’t really the best means of keeping in touch, but they’re something. I might keep doing that, and if anyone replies to my mass updates in the life of Stacey emails, I can start actual side conversations and really keep in touch with people.
My best friend had a party on Saturday, and I saw practically my whole group of friends from high school (or one group of friends, anyways, I had/have several). I even saw one guy who I hadn’t seen in 3 or 4 years. So I got to catch up with everybody, and all that good stuff, plus met a couple friends of friends and such. Good times.
I really love all of my friends, even people I haven’t spoken to in a while, but I really don’t do a good job of calling people or writing people that I don’t see often. I’m going to try to start writing people more, even if its just dropping people short emails every once in a while.
