Weekends two and three went without much event. I’ve just transitioned to shoeless, it feels. Shoeless shopping, shoeless concerts. I still occasionally thing [shouldn’t I be wearing shoes?], but those times decrease. It’s good to feel comfortable in one’s own skin . . . without needing something to cover it.

Memorial Day weekend! Went to a high school reunion and got chastised by a policeman as I was entering a bar. Picked blackberries and assured a fellow picker that my hands were in worse shape than my feet. My right foot’s still a lot stronger than my left, and my gait’s still all shoe-ified. However: complete shoelessness for a weekend!
No shoe fits my foot, and even were I to find one, it would still prevent the shear detection that feet have, prevent me from feeling the lovely textures of different ground types. Most shoes make one’s foot muscles atrophy with too much support and make one’s knees and back ache because of all the shock that ironically arises from cushioning the heel. I cannot escape shoes at my workplace. I can, however, in public.
