read in about an hour, last night. highly enjoyable.
i want to be willy wonka when i grow up!
there are two motives for reading a book. one that you enjoy it, the other that you can boast about it.
so now i can boast about having read gone with the wind although i guess its not that impressive after all. i have to admit it was pretty enjoyable though, especially the last part.
still i guess i prefer books that somehow sharpen my perception or make me a richer and better person. and that wasnt one of them.
not the most exciting thing ever, but not a bad read either. it’s just that i don’t feel it’s making me a spiritually or intellectually richer person.
i’ve noticed that crime and punishment’s on the list too and i read it back in high school. now that’s an amazing book!
i’ve just realised the perfume is on the list too and i read it a couple of weeks ago, because i wanted to do it before seeing the film. only took me a couple of hours, an excellent book.
this is not going too fast, cause i’m reading other books at the same time. but i’ve just finished the godfather and boy was it good (even though i’d seen the film before i read it. at least 3 times)
just finished the absolutely fantastic on the road and now moving onto godfather.
i have only red a couple of books from the list:
catcher in the rye (about a million times)
the great gatsby (ditto)
alice’s adventures in wonderland (re-read recently)
anne of green gables
lord of the flies
of mice and men (one of my alltime favourites)
love in the time of cholera
the alchemist (the only one i really didn’t like at all)
animal farm
last week i started reading kerouac’s on the road and it’s brilliant :)
