learn archery

I emailed my grandma about setting up an archery range at her place and she asked me what I needed. :) A good sign. I also hinted at needing a bow and arrows…maybe, just mayybe. It was my birthday last month, but then I’ve been gone for a month and a half across the country. Well see.

Last spring before my classes started I was really active about learning traditional recurve bow archery. I would gather a group of friends and drive an hour or so away to attend a free practice session by the local SCA archery guild. We tried out the local indoor archery range down the road, but the floresent lights and had a very weird hunting range feel about it. Not what I was looking for. I also took a Girl Scout archery range instructor course and then volunteered for an archery weekend.

Since school started again and I got so busy I haven’t had time. On top of the fact that the outdoor range we all loved changed their hours…and didn’t post them online. No idea when they meet anymore.

It would help if I had my own bow, then I would have the insentive to create my own archery range at my grandma’s house. However, I would have to do this alone since my grandma doesn’t allow any of my friends at her house. sigh

That’s my progress. Should I find my own bow, create my own archery range, find another group to practice with, or wait for the local archery guild to pick up the pieces?
