learn how to drive stick-shift

So I emailed my parents today to see if I could borrow their stick-shift explorer next month. Wish me luck!

When I first started learning…before I moved to Spain and drove a moped…I would drive up and down my parents’ driveway to and from the bus stop. It was a great way to get a ride in the cold weather!

So after that I would stop at the bottom of a hill and practice starting from the bottom. This was a great challenge. My dad also taught me the trick, if you’re parked on a really steep hill and you need to back up, to keep the parking break on until it has the gas to overcome the steepness, then to pop the break and vroom!
