I’ve started eating a little healthier and exercising every day. Now that its starting to get too cold to swim I am sad because I really love swimming. I’m going to have to find something else to do.

Well... 3 months ago

I am so out of shape! I think I can start exercising again so I think I am going to start doing that TODAY. I am trying to eat better. I’m not eating badly now but I could have a much more balanced diet. I am going to cut out candy and sodas for a while. I have finish the sodas we have in the fridge and then after that I’m not drinking any. I love candy so much but I can’t eat it anymore either. I’m going to drink more pomegranate juice and tea in addition to water. That way maybe I won’t be tempted to go for soda.

So... 3 months ago

I have been going to physical therapy and so far that is helping. I’m trying to eat better and do other things to stay healthy. So far I’m doing pretty good on this goal. I feel a little better every day!

Well... 3 months ago

It turns out I did pull a muscle. My physical therapist and personal trainer said to go easy on myself. Personal trainer said to use a heating pad and ice pack on my back and soak in epsom salts. I had a nice massage where the personal trainer rubbed lidocaine into my back and then did an ultrasound to heat it and massage it into the muscle, then I had a brief massage by the head massage therapist which was AMAZING!!!! I got a lot of relief from that so now I’m feeling a lot better, but I’m still taking it easy.

I think I pulled a muscle in my back. I have a physical therapy appt today so hopefully it will be okay. It hurts a lot though!

Got some not nice news from my doc… but nothing I can’t handle. Hopefully everything will be okay once I can get on track with diet and exercise.

Developments 3 months ago

I have my first physical therapy appt this friday, and on Monday an appt with a psychologist.

I have been eating right for the most part, but with a few exceptions.

I am remembering my vitamins on most days but I am still have trouble taking them all. I remember the ones I take at breakfast but I don’t remember the lunch and dinner ones. I wish I didn’t have to take so many supplements but I really do have to. I used to take way more, but I eliminated some of the ones I didn’t really need and instead started eating right.

Now I need to exercise.

I’m getting some running shoes soon and I’m going to start running on days when I’m not hurting.

I haven’t been as sick since I started eating more balanced meals and taking vitamins! Imagine that!!

Wow! 4 months ago

I just read that in this month’s issue of Shape that I can reduce cramps and breast tenderness when I have my period by getting 1,200 milligrams of calcium in my diet. I can also help my moodiness by eating oatmeal and bananas, which are high in vitamin B6, which produces dopamine, which makes you feel happy and balances emotions. Also cutting back on processed foods is good because they are high in sodium which causes bloating.

Not as easy as one might think... 4 months ago

I have been trying to take better care of my health for years! After having mono as a sophomore in high school my immune system has never been the same. Fast forward to age 22 and I am still feeling blah. I have no energy, serious back pain like an 80 year old, and I get sick all the time.

I am doing better than I used to. I went without health insurance for a long time, but even without health insurance I found ways around that. I learned about natural remedies and stuff to various illnesses, which is really good. Now that I do have insurance I am still going to use the natural methods I’ve learned. Using natural treatments rather than using chemicals and stuff helps build the body’s immunities. Using medications can cause the body to rely solely on medicine rather than fighting illness itself, and eventually you need more and more medicine to get better.

I have made appointments for doctors for practically every single thing wrong with me. Dentist, physical therapy, general care, ob/gyn, psychologist, optometrist… all that good stuff. I’m watching what I eat. I am trying to get back on a normal sleep schedule. I’m trying my best to remember vitamins and supplements. I take great care of my teeth, and have a dental plan of action to solve some problems I have. I got glasses and contacts. I was prescribed birth control again FINALLY and found a great gyno, and I’m still on a good track to taking care of my reproductive health. I’m trying to solve some issues I am having with my low iron and wacky blood sugar with my general doc and I am trying to maintain a certain level of physical fitness, if not improve it. I also made an appt for physical therapy and have that appt next tuesday. I made appt for a psychologist and my first session is at the end of the month.

Basically my problem is that I have NO energy and a weak immune system because my diet is not balanced enough, therefore not enough vitamins, therefore not strong enough to fight illness. With the swine flu and everything else going around I need a strong immune system. I try to remember my vitamins but I have to take them with a meal. My sleep schedule is off therefore mealtimes are off therefore taking vitamins is easy to forget because I’m not on a schedule.

So the first step is solving the sleep issue. Then solve the balanced diet and vitamins issue. Then by that time maybe with physical therapy my back won’t hurt so bad and I will be able to exercise. Then when I can exercise I will be in better shape physically, which means I will have more energy. Once I have more energy I can do normal tings again. Once I can do normal things again I can mark off this goal!!!

So yay! There’s my plan!
