*planning a trip to the Frick around Christmas. should be fun.

*it is the first week of October. snow is not even a thought. only in concert band could we ever be listening to MIDI versions of Carol of the Bells.
*the Elitism Book Club, which is really starting to come together. we’re starting off with more established classics; our first book is going to be either Dorian Gray or The Age of Innocence.

*October. although it is not my favorite month (I prefer December and May) I love its name.
*addressing and delivering poor work notices, which led to hanging out in the mailroom for like half an hour. it was epic.
*a really amazing football game in which we defeated our biggest rival in a game they were expected to win.
*hanging out with Colin, even though seating restrictions meant we had to scream across the bleachers to each other.

*Timothy Huang, who is the most brilliant mind in musical theatre since Sondheim. people need to be made aware of this man.
*a Wednesday night with no band practice. heaven!
*the 78E, an extremely convenient bus whose existence I had never before known of.

*hanging out in the Gifted office, listening to everybody’s conversations.
*the fact that I am never in class anymore. Christman probably hates me.
*the way it’s really starting to feel like autumn—which means CARAMEL CHAI SEASON AT STARBUCKS.

*Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
*the whole huge movement to save [title of show].
*long, inside-joke-laden AIM chats with my friends.

*hanging out with Melissa for the first time in a while.
*printing off [tos] flyers and leaving them in strategic locations.
*this wonderful older gentleman who randomly interrupted our conversation and then spent the next fifteen minutes discussing politics with us.
*the subject I chose for my Psych assignment. he was hilarious. “WHY YOU STANDING THERE LIKE A FAT KID, HUH?”

*hilarious videos in Psych.
*the fact that this weekend’s Psych assignment is basically to go stalk strangers in public.
*winning a football game finally.
*being carried bridal-style across the auditorium by a guy in a luchador mask. not many people can claim that.

*nice, leisurely study hall in the cafeteria.
*collecting ideas on what we should do for this year’s Gifted trips.
*the band trip is to DC and the Spanish Club trip is to Spain and, if I get the job I have my eye on, I’ll be able to make both of them.

*physics lab. dropping things out of the window. fun.
*really cool, gorgeous weather, although it doesn’t quite look like autumn yet.
*being able to laugh at unfortunate circumstances.

*taking a day off from school, just because.
*therefore, sleeping in.
*getting some decent Faure practice in.
