With a little hyper newborn boy this is something I go back and forth on.
I wake up with him around six am, after being up and taking care of him until three am.
At six,I make my husbands lunch, do at least one household chore, take out whatever meat it is I’m planning on cooking for dinner to thaw out.
I still have my breakfast tea, and the rest… but then once 10 oclock happens I go and I take a nap because my son is asleep. This is the area when he sleeps the most, so I do too. Maybe soon it’ll even out a little bit with his own schedule, until then.. I’m not sure if it’s done or not. A little hard to do with a three week old.

Well, I’m pregnant. Apparentally I have to get twelve hours of sleep.. and I didn’t know that. So I’ve been going to bed about six o clock… to wake up at six. :-/ sadly.
But the brighter part of the picture- I wake up at six. I can wake up and have a cup of tea and my breakfast. Watch the sunrise, and the news. Am I still tired? Yes.. but it’s getting easier.
Tai chi helps. So does morning yoga (prenatal-style for me)..
I learned something, it’s easier to wake up at the same time every morning, with a routine.
Wake up, drink a glass of water, make your bed.
Have Breakfast/Tea/Coffee/Whatever- Give yourself a few moments to relax and breath, either sit outside or sit by an open window
Take a shower and get dressed, not just in your sweats- but actually getting dressed head to toe- even with your hair done. I don’t know why, but it helps.
