OK I did my five consecutive days to earn my t-shirt, but I’m working on the REAL challenge, doing it for five consecutive WORK days (for a new pair of sneakers). Getting up at 8:30 to exercise is a bit different than getting up at 6:30, with somewhere to be. So far I’ve made it one day. I’ve found that making goals with consecutive days works better for me, because when I’m trying to justify going back to bed or whatever, I can say, “Hey Plum, that means you just wasted yesterday’s hard work.” and for some reason it helps. We’ll see. I’m getting sick, I can hear myself justifying going back to bed tomorrow morning already!!

I’ve exercised 4 mornings in a row, only one more to earn my new shirt. The real challenge will be next week, when I have to go back to work, and have NO time in the morning. But I get new shoes for doing it next week!
Damn, I’m good. Of course, I’m off work this week, so “morning” is pushed back an hour later than usual, but it’s a start!!
OK. If I get up and exercise for five days in a row, I get a new shirt. Today was day 1. I’m going to do it, every day this week, and get my treat, like a little rat in a maze. Bring on the cheese.
I almost did it this morning, but got tired and went back to bed. So tomorrow is the day.
What the heck is wrong with me? I did it one day, had a glorious day, a spring in my step all day, and haven’t done it again. It’s not THAT hard.
I did it this morning! It was only “8 Minute Arms” but it beats “8 Minute Snooze Button” that I usually do! It made a big difference all day, I walked around feeling like the kind of put-together gal who gets up early and exercises before work. Yay!
I’ve had this goal for 17 weeks and I haven’t done it once? Come on, now, Girl, get it in gear! This week, I WILL DO IT- even if it’s just once. I will drag my lazy (ample) butt out of bed and do a quick workout video or something. THIS WEEK.
Waking up early has been soooo hard for me lately, I don’t know what my problem is. I’m really disappointed. I really think getting up early to exercise would be the key to a lot of positive life changes for me, I can’t understand why it seems so clear to me now, but at 6 am, I’m like “hellllllll no, I’m sleeping in today”
My littler boy has been (uncharacteristically) getting in trouble in preschool lately. Each day they rate the kids’ behavior on a red, yellow, green light scale. Normally we don’t reward for green lights, because that’s our daily expectation, not something you do to get a treat. But he’s fallen in with a rough band of four year olds, and has been making bad choices (“serious trangressions”, like the sticking out of his tongue) and I asked him what I could do to help him get green lights, and he said, “Maybe if I get a green light at school, I could do exercises with you in the morning” Well, how can I say no to that?? So next week, we’ll be doing our 8 minute abs, or pilates, or whatever he chooses for those mornings that follow a green-light day! There won’t be any way for me to say “just five more minutes of sleep” like I say to myself every morning
