It’s long past time for me to apply my knitting skills to gifts for the most important people in my life (at least, the ones who aren’t already knitters themselves). So this year:
My husband
My mom
My dad
My best friend
and my best friend’s son
(since my other best friend is a knitter :) )
will all be getting something special knit just for them. This will dovetail to some point with my handmade holiday goal, but I may be giving the gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. too.
Saturday afternoon, I cast on for my dad’s lap blanket (scheduled for gifting on his birthday in early May) and have knit through about two inches. I love the progress so far!
This goal is tied to my 2009 Word of the Year – Motivation – and also to help me learn that if I take time to focus and make these things important, I can knit on a deadline. I’ll keep you posted!
