So I have officially become an employee of HopeReach. I started today, and so far I LOVE it. I think it’s going to be a perfect fit for myself, and I’ll probably stay there as long as I stay in SC. :)

I got a job offer. We are in the process of scheduling my training. It’s at a place called Hope Reach. They just opened a couple of months ago, but from what I was told they have a waiting list of clients waiting for people to be trained :)
So, I’m really excited.. This means I can start paying back all those college loans! Yay!
So far I have interviewed with two companies. The third will be tomorrow, but I’m starting to think that it is a bogus job. It was listed as a nonprofit company that deals with helping autistic children. Perfect job. I sent my resume in this morning, and I was called back in less than an hour. So this is why I think it’s bogus..
1. The guy said that he wanted to set up an interview with me and asked if tomorrow would be fine…. because he has a group of us meeting at the same time. This will be my first group interview.
2. I asked where they were located… he said that everyone would be meeting at the Atlanta Bread Company! So I’m convinced that this is some how a scam and the guy is just using it to pick up chicks lol. Valid company email address though… so???
I guess it wont hurt for me to go see what it’s all about. Worst thing it is a scam and I walk out. Meh..
I had a phone interview this past Tuesday with a company called Eckerd Youth Alternatives. The interview went really well, and I have a second one scheduled for tomorrow. The woman I interviewed with emailed me a bunch of paperwork, so I’m hoping that means that I pretty much have it in the bag. She also gave me some key numbers such as salary, paid days off, etc.. I’ll continue to cross my fingers though… I really need the job with all of those school loans starting repayment very very soon :)
The interview was horrible. It was probably something dealing with the new clothes, the squeaky leather shoes and the fact that I drove an hour and a half in the heat without air condition… I just couldn’t sell myself to them. It was VERY uncomfortable. Secondly, I’m not sure if I would have actually fit in there. Hopefully I have better luck with the few other places that have contacted me.
I have an interview tomorrow morning at a nonprofit organization. I am REALLY nervous, and I am hoping they will be able to pay me enough to live on my own… Otherwise I’ll have to keep looking around. I guess I’ll just have to cross my fingers :)
I emailed my resume the other day to a nonprofit organization called Eckerd Youth Alternatives. It seems like a great job. I would be working with a group of kids with behavioral problems. Basically, it involves me camping with them for 4-5 days out of the week 24 hrs a day, and helping them learn how to work together without aggression. The pay isn’t great, but it is a nonprofit company, and secondly… it’s GREAT money for what I’d be doing. I also love the idea of constantly doing something.. especially since I have been pretty much inactive my 5 years of college.
The good news… I was emailed back, and the director asked if she could set up a phone interview with me because from looking at my resume, she believed I would make a great match! :)
