I’m the office manager of a fabulous nonprofit org that lets me work in the political activism and community organizing I care about. Hurrah!

I’m actually at the job right now. Shhhh. Don’t tell.
I read somewhere about someone who wanted work that would “challenge my mind without destroying my soul”. Amen, say I. So far, I’m 0 for 2.
How do I find it while still paying off my college loans (Thing #4)?
Thing is, I went to a great college that gave this lively, curious woman an eye-opening education. It taught me the meaning of vocation, that making a living is not the same thing as making a life. But because I got that expensive education, I have to do all the things it taught me never to do.
I’m not resentful towards my college, or regretful that I went there. How could I be? It was a wonderful experience. But I’m trying to reconcile where I am with who I am, and finding it hard.
Basically: college-educated, hard-working woman seeks meaningful work. Has experience of all kinds, from screenwriting to firefighting. Please hire. :-)
