Just got my registration form back. There was a place where someone had wrote “place of birth” in one of the other blocks & highlighted it. Why didn’t they just make a block for that instead of having me send it in & then sending it back with the handwritten note? Confusing. But okay, I’ll play their little game & send it back in.

I haven’t received confirmation that I’m registered, but then again, it’s only been a week. I will attempt to be patient…
Went to the Rock The Vote website (thanks to someone who left me a comment). Filled out the paperwork. Stamped it. Now its sitting in my car waiting to be mailed.
Chose No Party because I want to vote mainly on the issues & go with who I think would be the best leader. Sometimes I prefer a Republican, sometimes a Democrat. Kind of bothers me that by doing it this way I could be excluded from part of the voting process, but whatever. I’m secretly amused by the idea of jury duty. :)
I’ve never voted. For several reasons, but mostly it’s that trying to make sense of government & politics makes my head want to explode. I do feel tremendous guilt for not voting though, since I live in a free country & have the privelege of doing so. The guilt is starting to overwhelm me sooooo….
My first goal really is to register. Once I get that done, I need to research the candidates (if there is even a shred of truth out there) & then stand in a really long line on voting day & just do it. Why does it seem so painful?!! They should make voting fun…say at an amusement park or while serving cake & ice cream & juggling.
Anyone have advice on how to get registered or where to find quality/unbiased information about the candidates?
