ride an elephant

This is so weird. I went to the circus today & they had elephant rides. But I didn’t do it. It wasn’t the way I wanted it to happen. Not with a big contraption on top, like an elephant saddle with side-railings for safety. And not in a big circus ring with a crowd of on-lookers. I want to ride bare-back in a pleasant outdoor environment. Is that too much to ask? :)

A friend of mine did this in Thailand & got to ride her elephant down to the river & bathe him. I don’t think there’s any place to do it in the US. I’ll probably have to go overseas which means it could be years before crossing it off my list. I guess it’s more of a dream than a goal.
