get a full-time job

It’s taken a long time to get the kind of job I wanted; 11 months to be exact, and even now it’s not quite perfect. It’s a 6 month contract position, but there’s a very good chance that it will go permanent. It’s paying what I wanted, got the benefits I wanted, and it’s doing the kind of work I wanted, so all-in-all, it was worth waiting for.

I’ve had it with these temp agencies. They get you a job, telling you that it’s going to be ‘long-term’, ‘indefinite’, ‘ongoing’, and then it ends in a week….I’ve had it, I’m sick of this job to job crap, especially when they’re always advertising these jobs that are supposedly temp-to-hire and exactly fit my qualifications, but then when I go apply for that one, there’s no mention of it, or it’s been taken already. I need a REAL job!!!

I hate this endless round of rigamarole, but what else can I do? I thought this one was a direct hire, but turns out it’s just another agency. This time though, while it is a placement agency, it’s not a temp agency, they do temp-to-hires. Pretty good-paying positions though. Now let’s just hope I get one of them.

I went to the interview; personally I think it went rather well, but it’s got nothing to do with what I think, does it? She told me that when the person starts is really up in the air; it could be on Monday, it could be next Friday. Basically it was the usual closing spiel: I’ve got some other interviews, but I should be making a decison within the next couple of days. I usually take that to mean that I didn’t get it, after all, if she wanted to hire me, why would she need to interview anyone else?

At 10:00 this morning, EST, I have an interview with a fairly large national company, I’m applying for an admin assistant position. (That’s what I do) I’m praying this one comes through, I’m so sick of all the worrying and stressing. Send me some good vibes people!!

I’ve been working two part time jobs for a temp agency, but one of them ended, so now I need a fulltime job….this part time pay isn’t cutting it, I’m so far behind on my bills that I may never get out. Anybody wanna hire a Receptionist/ Administrative Assistant?
