I really need to get my hands on a scale. I think I may have completed this goal by now.
I’ve gone from a size 12 to a size 6. I love how I look, and I’m not self-conscious about wearing tight clothes or a bathing suit. I feel awesome!!
I injured my knee playing ultimate this week. It’s pretty bad…I most likely tore my ACL. So…no ultimate for 6 months at least.
Some good coming out of this though…
1. I must have really started liking exercise, because the thought of going so long without playing is just about unbearable to me.
2. I’m actually getting quite the workout crutching around all over the place.
3. A friend commented that my body will probably be able to take the injury and surgery much better since I’m in such better shape than I was a year ago.
I’ve worked so hard to come this far. And I’m going to work even harder to make sure I don’t lose all that ground.
154.5 pounds! 4.5 to go! I desperately need to go clothes shopping =)
I saw some old friends at an alumni ultimate tournament this past weekend. I got so many compliments!
I don’t own a scale. I’ll go for months at a time without weighing myself, until I visit my father, who has an excellent scale. Anyway, I made it over today, for the first time since December, when I weighed 173. Holy Cow, I’m down to 158.5! Just 8.5 pounds to go…and I’m the lightest I’ve been since high school!
For the past month or so, people have been commenting on how I look like I’ve lost weight. I thought maybe it was just a fluke…until the 3rd or 4th person mentioned something. I don’t have a scale at home, but 2 weeks ago I was finally had access to one for the first time since the summer. I’ve lost 10 pounds, down to 170! It hasn’t been a dramatic loss, but my method wasn’t too dramatic either. All I did really was start eating breakfast regularly, skimp out on lunch and eat a big dinner. Distributing the calories this way really seems to work for me. Before, I would get soo hungry from skipping or skimping breakfast, that I would have a huge lunch from a restaurant near work. Eating a moderate breakfast instead seems to help regulate my appetite all day, so I’m less likely to eat a whole box of Cheez-Its as soon as I walk in the door. It is slowly but surely working!
I read something yesterday. If somebody offered you a million dollars to go for a 30-minute walk, would you do it? of course you would. for some reason, that really struck a chord with me. I’m perfectly capable of getting out there and exercising, even if it’s just a little bit. it doesn’t have to be a 10K run or a 3-hour bike ride. if you could do it for a million dollars, there’s no reason not to do it…you’re just making excuses. and even if nobody’s giving you money, you’ll feel like a million bucks. (oh, that was cheesy.)
