OK, went off island last week for 2 days to pick up the wedding dress and any other shopping (our one mall is 2 hrs away!) All was great until soon-to-be daughter had a crisis. Spend over $500 to extend the stay 2 more days… missed work, blah, blah, blah. All went haywire for 2 days! Still yet, we summed it up this way—$200 rental car; $75+ to change flights; $300 miscellany food and expenses; truly being there to help… priceless.

Work consumes my energy all the time, but on vacation, I don’t once think of working! (Except when they called me-twice!) What I discovered about myself - work is taking too much out of me. I received so many compliments about how good I looked on vacation—is it more sleep? less stress? more like all of the above. I didn’t miss work AT ALL!
