dance like nobody's watching

Over the holidays I’ve been going out a bit with my mates and I think I’m going well on this goal. On the dance floor I’ve just let myself go with the music; just finding the beat and going with it. Really blocking out the thoughts of whether there are people watching or not and saying to myself hey, who cares? We’re all here to dance – so let’s dance! :-)

Just had to make an update. I’ve re-discovered the joy that is dancing to Dragostea Din Tei (yes, THAT ‘numa numa’ song! grin)

I’ve just been dancing freely to it, putting all my feelings into movement, into action. I’m sure if there were other people watching me it would have looked kinda nuts, lol, but I guess that’s the very essence of dancing like nobody’s watching. Not caring how funny or silly it looks, just having an awesome time. It’s been very therapeutic, very relaxing actually. And I broke out in this huge grin while dancing that stayed there the whole time. Hurrah!

Well tis the season for many a party, street party, dance party, house party…so I guess we’ll see whether I can truly dance like no-one’s watching or if I’ll get self-conscious as I often do.

Did this in my room today. Turned some house anthems way up and boogied all on my own and had a fantastic time. ^^

I think this is difficult to do sometimes, just letting yourself go and going with the music. It’s easy to get self conscious, and when you start thinking about what you’re doing well that doesn’t work, lol! You just need to let yourself move with the flow and let the beat take over. Easier said than done ;)
