get a nose job

Here is a profile picture from one week after my surgery. This was the day the stitches were taken out and the tape removed. My bruising was gone by then as well as the swelling across my cheeks. The tip is still numb on the bottom and swollen through the tip. My sister and I are the only ones who can tell it is swollen. It is a pretty minor change. I am really happy I did it.

I had my surgery yesterday. My doctor did a wonderful job. It was an open rhinoplasty. I am not sore and I’m not taking any pain meds except for the occassional Tylenol. The only discomforts are my throat drying out from breathing through my mouth, and my nose feels stuffy. My little cast fell off this morning. It started swelling today, but I am told that within the 1st 48 hours you get the worst of the swelling. Even though it is swollen, I can tell that he straightened it and that got rid of the bump in the bridge. He also fixed the tip. I had some drainage yesterday, but today I have had none to speak of. I don’t regret it in the least. I just can’t wait to get the stitches out on Tuesday. The biggest pain is just hanging out at home. But really, I can’t complain at all. It has been worth the money and the time. Dr. Sullivan in Columbus, Ohio is wonderful. I’ll post a picture once the stitches are out.

My surgery is June 4th. This past week, I chaparoned homecoming and the trip to cedar point. I ended up with this sinus, cold thing that most of my students have. I was pissed. I got an anti-biotic just in case it tried to become a sinus infection. I feel much better, but my nose is a little stuffed. I’ve called the doc and so far, all systems are still go. I’m so pleased and I’m counting down to the day.

I am scheduled for June 4th in Columbus, Ohio. I am all set. My pre-op is in early May. I am clearing out a bit of my savings, but I think wanting something for so long makes it worthwhile. This is why I have a job. That money is set aside and ready. Can’t wait till June.

I found my doctor. I am going to schedule my surgury for early June. I am pretty pumped. I’m opting for just the nose. My doctor is a pro with tons of experience and accolades. He was realistic and, I feel, honest. He has done good work in the past. We’ll see.

I have multiple consultations set up now with different doctors over the next couple of months in Canton and Columbus. Consultations are pricey when you are shopping for a doc. I am really going to do this. I just have to find the right doctor. I am pretty pumped about the whole thing.
