I know I just posted an entry about this, but I also want to say:
The more people you have involved, the more fun it is. After it was over last night we were all so tired and thirsty, so we went to Applebee’s and had some great food. It was just a fun time to sit and laugh and eat with good friends after a long day of being hot and sweaty together.

Church garage sale was this weekend. It was hot, it was fun. We had SO MUCH STUFF. Oh my. I didn’t stay the whole day Saturday because lots of people from the church came to help out, and the lady in charge of it ended up being able to come on Saturday. But I helped take stuff out and pack stuff up and made sandwiches for everybody yesterday.
Some drama happened, like Saturday morning we discovered the church had been broken into and some rooms were completely trashed. This morning there was an upside down cross spray painted on the front of the building underneath our cross. It’s pretty sad. I know that an upside-down cross can be a mark of anti-Christian or Satanist groups. I hope nothing else happens, but I doubt it’ll stop here.

Okay. The dates for the church garage sale are set. Because I can’t do it Friday because of work and the lady that wanted to do it can’t do it Saturday because of work, she’ll do Friday and i’ll do Saturday. We’ll both set up Thursday. It’ll be fun! And all proceeds go to help a couple from our church on their trip to Africa next year!

I am still trying to figure out if the church is going to have a garage sale. I really want to be in charge of it. For some reason it just seems like a lot of fun to price things and set them up and greet people, and of course I’d let my little sister sell lemonade and ice tea. It would be fun. But it’s August already and we have to do it soon if we’re going to do it!

I kind of wanted to do this with friends and make a day of it, but it doesn’t look like that’ll work out, especially since I was thinking about it, and our driveway won’t work at all. I wouldn’t mind taking it to the church and selling it at the church garage sale, but if I do that I want to have some part in it. I wonder who’s running that, and when it is, or if they need someone to be in charge. That would be fun. I’ll ask Pastor on Sunday.

Okay, this is really annoying.
My room is FULL of my belongings. I’m nearing the end of unpacking, though there is a set of wooden shelves that simply has no place in my room so it’s staying in the trunk of the car until further notice.
I started putting a few boxes in the garage for a garage sale, though there’s not really enough room for all of the ones I have. And, here’s the thing – I may not even be living at home this summer! I might be living down the road with an old lady from church! So I kind of want to wait to unpack, but I can’t because I don’t know what to unpack (like, what I need now) and what to keep packed. I just threw stuff in containers, thinking it didn’t matter because I’d be unpacking it in a few hours anyway.
Now, I’m so confused. Blah. I don’t like putting my “stuff to give away” in boxes because I don’t have big enough boxes. I want to use my duffels, but if I’m going to be moving again within the next day, I’ll need my duffels before I need my boxes.
Bottom line: I’m having a frustrating time abstaining from organizing my room, but there’s not really anything I can do with it right now. All I can do is avoid my room and wait until we find out what’s going on. I hope that by the time I get back from church today, I’ll have a place to stay. If this happens, I’ll also be looking for a car to buy (woohoo!)

I just got home for the summer, and I realized something.
I have way too much stuff.
I spent the last couple hours sifting through stuff that is already in my room, most of which I didn’t bring to school because I didn’t need it. If I don’t need it there, why do I need it now? Mostly, the stuff I’m keeping is cold weather clothes (I’ll need them later) and sentimental value stuff (letters and pictures from my little sister or best friend).
I have unpacked maybe two boxes since I got home, since I already had so much stuff in my room I didn’t have room for it!
I need to do a garage sale. I would love to have a joint garage sale with becca and kaitie. I’ll talk to them about it. We could go see a movie with the money we make, or something. Or donate the money to missions or something.
Well, now that I’m home I have to get used to this new keyboard…so I’m done typing for now.
