I was planning on really disappearing into a puff of smoke, but my digital camera gave me away. When I posted the photo of the fortune, DJ looked at the EXIF data associated with the photo (something I had no idea existed…). It has all sorts of info – the type of camera, settings, etc – in my case – it had my real name (must have been put there when setting up my canon software)
He must have compared that with my avatar photo and voila! mystery solved.
I’ve since gone back and edited all of the photos I placed on this site to remove that data. As I have pictures of my kids on here, I’m a little paranoid about that.
I’ve had fun with this little exercise, and even learned some good info while doing it – some rudimentary photoshop, the EXIF information, and the fact that I enjoy a good laugh. My kids thought I was nuts when I was sitting here laughing at the latest hasselhoffian adventure.
